About the Author

Anne A. Lawrence, MD, PhD is a physician, sex researcher, psychotherapist, and academic writer. She is best known for her pioneering book, Men Trapped in Men's Bodies: Narratives of Autogynephilic Transsexualism (Springer, 2013), which presents first-person narratives by MtF transsexuals who experience this unusual sexual orientation. Dr. Lawrence has also written numerous research articles, commentaries, and book chapters, many of which can be downloaded from this site. She resides in Seattle, Washington with her cats Zoe and Ella. The art images on this website represent paintings from her collection.
